Meet Our Team
Decades of combined experience. Real-world construction knowledge. People you can actually talk to.

DeWayne Krawl
President & Owner
DeWayne has over 50 years of experience in the construction industry. He has been a finish carpenter, roofer, framer, Realtor, purchasing manager, office manager, sales manager, vice president, president, custom builder, remodeler — and for the last 21 years, a structural engineering professional. So basically, he can't keep a job.
Mr. Krawl is said to have a rather dry and quirky sense of humor, which comes in very handy when dealing with homeowners that think they know better and builders that are sure they do.
DeWayne's goal in forming Cen Tex Engineering was to quickly and reliably provide the type of quality service and common-sense designs he wished he would have had back when he was building. Since many of his clients have been with him for over 20 years, it appears he has accomplished that goal. His commitment is to never be the hold-up on any project — and to help compensate for those that are.
Outside of work, DeWayne enjoys trying to keep up with his workout-queen wife (which is not easy), travel, live music, singing, writing songs and poems, dancing, collecting, movies, and learning AI — before it takes over the world.

Kasey J. Werlin, P.E.
Senior Engineer
Kasey brings more than 25 years of experience in engineering and construction, working across a wide variety of projects including land development, heavy highway, and both commercial and residential work.
Throughout her career, Kasey has taken on a range of roles that give her a well-rounded, practical perspective. She understands how design decisions play out in the real world — impacting everything from construction and cost to long-term performance. With hands-on construction experience, she brings valuable insight into every project, helping ensure her designs are both thoughtful and buildable.
Kasey lives in Bee Cave with her husband, their two children, and their Great Dane.

Shannon Wolf
V.P. of Business Development
Since joining Cen Tex Engineering in 2022, Shannon has served as Vice President of Business Development, focusing on strengthening relationships within the residential construction industry and expanding the company's client base. In this role, he actively participates in numerous local associations and industry events, fostering connections with current clients while pursuing new business opportunities throughout Central Texas. With a strong background in both engineering and construction, Shannon brings a well-rounded perspective and deep industry knowledge to the Cen Tex team.
Shannon holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Engineering and is certified through InterNACHI for residential structural design and inspections. His career in residential construction began in 1998 at Key Group Engineering, where he developed expertise in foundation design using AutoCAD software. After a decade with the company, Shannon and his twin brother launched and successfully operated their own foundation company for approximately 10 years. He later spent several years in real estate and sales before ultimately returning to his true passion — residential construction and engineering.
Outside of work, Shannon enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working out, following sports, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and spending time in the great outdoors.
Richard Lo
VP of Production
Richard brings over 20 years of engineering experience, working on a wide range of local and regional projects. Before joining Cen Tex Engineering in 2021, he played a key role at Duffy Engineering, where his organization, creativity, and problem-solving helped drive the firm's success.
Richard earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and began his career in 2004 as a drafter. Over the years, he's built strong expertise in structural design, project management, and construction — particularly in high-end residential and light commercial work.
He takes a collaborative, client-focused approach to every project, working closely with architects, builders, and owners to bring each vision to life with practical, well-executed designs.
Outside of work, Richard enjoys dancing with his wife and spending time with their three children — often hiking, fishing, or just enjoying the great outdoors together.

Sage Wallace
Inspections Manager
Sage joined Cen Tex Engineering in 2021 and has spent the last five years learning the business from the ground up — surrounded by engineers who just couldn't stop teaching him things. He is certified through InterNACHI for residential structural design and has since become the company's boots-on-the-ground, front-line presence with builders and homeowners.
As Inspections Manager, Sage handles everything from foundation and framing to wind bracing inspections, making sure every Cen Tex design holds up in the real world — literally. For remodels, he evaluates existing conditions and maps out what it takes to safely remove a wall, add a column, or make room for new windows and doors. He also creates the inspection and engineering reports that keep the rest of the team informed. Additionally, you might find him in AutoCAD helping with foundation and framing designs.
Sage is currently pursuing his Associate's degree in CAD/BIM Design at Austin Community College.
Outside of work, Sage enjoys hiking and walks with his wife and toddler, and when time allows, he fires up the smoker and cooks for anyone lucky enough to be on the guest list.
